Organization information: Fraunhofer IPT is a research institute with focus on production technology. Central tasks are the applied research and development as well as the optimization of innovative production technologies and its transfer into the industrial environment. We understand the production process as a functional whole in which the individual elements of the process chain are interconnected and interlinked. We develop new and optimize existing methods, technologies and processes to create the production environment of the future. With the background of comprehensive experiences in the field of process automation, one key aspect is the interconnection of machines and software systems, targeting the flexibilization, automatic adaptation, and optimization of the whole production process. Starting point for this is the continuous information flow, including the collection and processing of the process parameters as well as the structured data exchange and information provision.
Role in SERENA: Fraunhofer IPT will bring its technical expertise to the SERENA consortium.
